This publication is exclusively crafted for discerning minds with a penchant for profound contemplation and insightful analysis. It is designed for those individuals who proactively seize opportunities, swiftly embark on scientific inquiries, and immerse themselves in rigorous experiments to unveil and refine groundbreaking ideas. We celebrate thinkers who meticulously ponder the intricacies of facts through deep reflection, rigorous experimentation, and the application of reason. These intellectual architects articulate their findings in eloquent texts or strategic and pioneering plans, contributing to the ever-evolving landscape of knowledge.
So, according to Descartes, thought is the sensor that doubts, understands, perceives, proves, wills or does not will, imagines, and feels… and no creature possesses this sensor except humans! Thought is defined as the activity of the mind to know the unknown. The idea is the mental image of something, while thinking is defined as the activity of the mind in understanding the mental image. The process of thinking is described as an internal mental activity that is accompanied by or precedes imaginations, thoughts, emotional and sensory perceptions. In other words, this is the effort made by rational beings, and it may contain correctness or error!
I dedicate this gift specifically to the honorable readers who have been blessed with the acquisition or perusal of the first work in my series, the book: “Ruminating the Past Corrupts Reflection.” I congratulate them on this rational step that will prepare them to discover the landmarks of the true religion, namely (the discovery of the Holy Quran) which guides to what is most upright! Indeed, this Quran guides to what is most upright and gives good news to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward (9).
Frequently, there is a tendency to equate the understanding of facts, reality, knowledge, and action, assuming they share identical meanings. Yet, upon careful consideration, it becomes evident that this is not accurate.
A fact pertains to the state of existence, something tangible and independent, occupying a defined space. It remains largely unaffected by external forces, standing resilient against the sway of its surroundings. In contrast, reality is an established construct that hinges upon inherent certainties, acquired knowledge, and other discoveries. Its contours shift in response to the observer’s perception, beliefs, and values, forming a dynamic and subjective landscape.
In essence, while facts stand as steadfast entities with an independent existence, reality is a nuanced tapestry woven from the threads of certainties, perceptions, and evolving concepts, influenced by the observer’s perspective and the intricacies of their beliefs and values.
The underpinning of reality finds reinforcement in steadfast scientific principles—a rational framework tethered to a particular timeframe acknowledged by discerning researchers or observers. It is this adherence to fixed points that delineates reality. Consequently, the perception of reality exhibits a notable variance from person to person and situation to situation. This inherent variability is the essence that imparts vitality to life itself. It is only through the lens of death that we attain a profound understanding of the reality of life—a sentiment encapsulated in the adage: “Knowledge of things is through their opposites.”
